There are a few different configurations to consider when choosing the Ranger. There are two bed/cab combinations, including a crew cab with 5-foot long bed and an extended cab with a 6-foot long bed. Plus, there are three great trims:

  • Ford Ranger XL

The Ford Ranger –

Best in Towing

Best in Efficiency

Best in Class

Regardless of which style and trim configuration you prefer, every 2019 Ford Ranger is equipped with a turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine. Rated for 270 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque, this engine comes paired solely to a ten-speed automatic transmission.

This base engine is the perfect amount of power for California drivers for a number of reasons. Not only does it offer the impressive power and responsive handling our customers want, it also helps the 2019 Ford Ranger outshine the competition and become the best in its pickup class in a couple of different areas, including:

  • Best-in-class towing. Every Ranger has a 7,500-pound towing capacity. By comparison, both the GMC Canyon and Chevy Colorado have a tow capacity of just 7,000 pounds with their gas-powered engines.
  • Best-in-class fuel economy. The Ranger earns an EPA estimated rated of 23 mpg combined. This is greater than competing models, including the GMC Canyon, Chevy Colorado, Toyota Tacoma, and the Honda Ridgeline.
